The Great Anti-Incumbent Movement

by Ronald A. Rowe May 25th, 2010 | Congress, General Politics, Political Opinions
The Great Anti-Incumbent Movement has begun. Rand Paul and Joe Sestak are the face of the Movement so far, but you can bet that there will be more to come in November’s mid-term elections. Paul and Sestak’s qualifications aside, the masses have spoken and they have decided in favor of the outsiders.

Depending on who you ask, either the Establishment has been put on notice or this is about nothing larger than the particular candidates in the particular elections that were held this week. I think it is something less than the former but far more than the latter.

Big business bashing?  Check.

Government posturing?  Check.

The federal government, under the watchful eyes of Supreme Ruler for Life Obama, reacted to the the tragedy by effectively saying "Don't worry, BP

Charlie Crist

Funny how things can turn out.  A few weeks back I commented on the Florida Senate race, as Governor Charlie Crist battled former House Speaker Mario Rubio for the Republican nomination to replace Mel Martinez in the Senate.  At the time, I saw it as a battle for the heart of the Republican Party as the centrist Crist tried to hold his ground against conservative Rubio.

Turned out that it wasn't much of a battle.  Republicans in Florida have spoken loudly and decisively.  They do not want a moderate. They do not want to stake
