"News flash," Eric: Abortion and the Iraq War ARE related issues, since "Operation Iraqi Freedom" was a war of choice, not one we were forced to wage in defense of our or any other nation. Most of the Republicans are "pro-choice" in preferring war as an option, just as most Democrats are "pro-choice" in defending the deliberate, planned destruction of human life as a matter of "choice" in abortion. The majority of Democrats in office have made theirs the party of abortion, just as most Republicans appear to happy with that party's "Wars 'R" Us" zeal. The two major parties in this country are twin pillars of the culture of death. That's one reason why Ron Paul is such and honorable exception and refreshing alternative.

Eric you should check out www.ted.com It's a little bit of a lefty site, but if you go to the conversations section you will find a really good mix that you could learn from and get very good insight from highly educated professionals from around the world. If you haven't already checked it out.

I was actually insulted by reading this article. I'm not an American but I've been keeping track of this GOP. The Author of this article appears to be a slogan-spitter (“unelectable”,“extremists”,strawpoll ,
straw men). I've heard these catch-phrases all too often from mainstream media. It is apparent that the author does not realise that these entities are privately owned. And they promote their friends by blacking out candidates and having constant "polls" that show "support"(SWAY support is the real use) for "their man". Its a sad state of affairs what has happened to the country of America. I really hope that they can get back on track because America seems like it is slowly sliding into a 2nd world country.
PS: I don't mean any disrespect to the author but I think that he should educate himself further in World History and Politics. But then again, I don't think that is his point, he has his view and he can either stand by it as he proudly has, or he can try writing something unbiased. (demonstrates the good and bad for both sides).
I'm going to take a guess that this author is in his early mid-20's and put this piece together in a few hours... I'm certain I would have written such a piece back then too, but it's something we learn over time. Good luck on the next Article.

Well! A name like "EricMBlakeisatard" just goes to show the rampant immaturity of the above poster. That, in addition to the straw men arguments in the post, hardly dignify a respose other that the one I now post.

"Only Christian in the race" indeed!

"What about You? He would need a good speech writer."

LOL! Well...I'm consitutionally not old enough....

In answer to your point, Ron--a valid point. But I suppose I'm being a little selfish, too: As a Floridian, part of me wants Rubius Magnus to continue to be the face of our state, for a while....

And...I doubt he would consider himself to be ready for the job, asked or not....

It's one thing to say "no" when no one has actually asked. It's another when the potential next leader of the free world asks you to be his VP.

Eric M Blake,

Let me clue you in on how republics and other representitive govrnments happen. You don't deliver to people as a forgien governemtn democracy and republics at the end of a barrel, you sieze them from the other end of the gun deposing tyranny.

Your view are immature, and lack historical context. They are also Liberal, and by Liberal we accept the Liberalism in its modern incarnation is using Government to effect governmental policy both domestically and abroad, social conservatism is not a political philosophy, it is a personal choice.

The Irony of Christians chastising Ron Paul is immense, from where I sit, he is the only Christian in the race, not talking the talk, but walking the walk.
