There is a reason that no sitting president has ever gone on a late night TV show before. There is a certain decorum to the office that is getting harder and harder to maintain in the age of mass media. I’m not going to get on you for saying something stupid. I, myself, said three stupid things before I finished breakfast this morning. But Mr. President, just between you and me, you really should stick with the teleprompter.
Lucky break for you, however, that you are still getting a free pass in the media for saying such things. But we can’t assume that will last forever. At some point, I really do believe that the major media outlets will begin treating you as if you were, pardon my saying so, a mere mortal. They may ask you questions that you don’t want to answer. They actually may dare to follow up with another hard question when you dismiss them for asking something that is not on your talking points. It hasn’t happened yet, but I think you should be prepared.
Just for the sake of argument, let’s look at what might have happened if your predecessor made a comment on national TV comparing himself to someone in the Special Olympics. What might the headlines have screamed then? How many organizations would have demanded an apology? Called for his resignation? Demanded impeachment?
The point I’m trying to make, Beloved Leader, is that what you’ve got going here, the complete lack of accountability, doesn’t come along very often. I haven’t seen one news headline calling you, personally, a “Corporate Stooge” because of the whole AIG thing. The major media outlets are not questioning why you have not followed up on your campaign pledge to extricate us from Iraq. The free pass issued to you during the primary contest against Hillary and carried over through the campaign against Senator McCain has not expired. Not yet, but four years is a long time.
Disclaimer: I am not an official advisor to the Benevolent One, but maybe I should be.

I think you would make a better advisor than Rahmbo! Maybe you could advise him to quit socializing this nation!
Well stated. Did you notice last night that he used an HDTV instead of a teleprompter?
You definitely would be a better advisor! You say it so well.
It is going to be a long four years. This guy and the people he keeps appointing to our government scares the hell out of me. I don’t know after four years of the last few months if we will even recognize or still have this country.
