Before we get on to the regular Winners and Losers, I’d like to get personal with you – I feel like our relationship has hit the stage where I can share this with you – and talk about my individual struggle with the Florida primary coming up on January 31st. I’ve normally made up my mind long before this point in the primary process. But not this time around. This time, I’m still trying to decide on a candidate. And believe it or not, the wild card in my deliberations is Ron Paul.
I know I’ve been tough on old
South Carolina Speaks
by Ronald A. Rowe January 25th, 2012 | Political Opinions, Winners & Losers
Wow. South Carolina surprised me. I was forced to go back and rethink my observations from earlier in the week. Read on to see what went up and what came down this week in the world of politics.
WINNERS:
Newt Gingrich
A stellar performance at the debate and a big win in South Carolina has Newt Gingrich back on top of the Republican field. The Republican nomination may not be as wrapped up as it appeared. Although Gingrich's baggage would most likely spell disaster in a general election, it would be something special to see him debate President Obama.

by Jessica B. January 17th, 2012 | Presidential Election
In my last post about the positive things Obama has done during his first three years, I got a great deal of response from both sides of the political coin, and that was good to see. But one thing that became evident in the comments I got was that a lot of us on the left view Obama as a compromiser, but those on the right do not. While I understand a lot of us have different base political views – I wonder how it is we can see the same thing so differently.

Independent Predictions for 2012
by Jason Lightner January 6th, 2012 | Independent Ideas, Political Opinions
It's now 2012, and if the Mayans have their way, we won't be around much longer. Not one to believe in superstitions, bogey monsters, or any other imaginary friends adults may wish to conjure up, I tend to base my views firmly in facts. With that being said, and with a cheeky smirk on my face, I've got a few predictions of my own for this year.
1. Obama is a One-Term President
Under fire from the ACLU (and any sane human being on the planet), Obama continues to turn his back on the people of the United States after

So What Has Obama Actually Done?
by Jessica B. January 3rd, 2012 | Democratic Deliberations, Presidential Election
It's 2012, an election year, and one that is bound to be a long, unpleasant struggle on the media stage until pretty much everyone on both sides is sick and tired of the whole mess. With Obama up for a second term and anyone's guess as to who will be on the Republican ticket, things seem uncertain. And one thing that makes many people uncomfortable is uncertainty.
Obama is in a difficult spot. One of the reasons for his first victory was the turnout of people who traditionally don't show up at the polls. He got the youth vote to
