The Dream Team

by Eric M. Blake January 30th, 2012 | Conservative Considerations, Presidential Election, Republican Reflections
This week is the week of the Florida primary—the primary for my state.  Naturally, since that’s my state, my readers are going to want to know who I endorse for President.

I’ll do more than that, here.  I’m not just going to endorse a ticket.  I will lay out who I want in an ideal administration—and give my reasons why.  So, without further ado…

The ticket: Of the Final Four, my favorite, as you probably know, is Rick Santorum.  Still, the practical guy in me understands the argument that Mitt and Newt have more momentum.  Of those two, I’d pick Mitt

On Chickens, Hawks, and Vultures

by Eric M. Blake January 16th, 2012 | Conservative Considerations, Political Facts, Republican Reflections
Bird names have been thrown around a lot, this month—particularly with the GOP Primary season upon us.  The two big examples, of course, involve Newt Gingrich being a “chickenhawk”…and Mitt Romney being a “vulture capitalist”.  Today…let’s look at them both.

Ron Paul has lately been engaging in the typical Leftist talking point (which…I believe was formally coined “chickenhawk” by Al “The Joker” Franken for his Leftist creed, Rush Limbaugh Is a Big Fat Idiot) that if you haven’t been in the military, and fought in a war—you have no business deciding whether or not America should go to war.

No such luck.  See, it’s not Gandhi’s general principle the Revolutionaries are interested in, so much as a way of making themselves feel better about Ron Paul’s

Let’s Get This Party Started

by Jason Lightner October 21st, 2011 | Independent Ideas
Good day to you and yours, fine reader! Today, I'd like to take a break from the tales of police brutality, government corruption, corporate and financial greed, and imperialistic foreign policy I enjoy shedding so much light upon and, instead, discuss with you something you might be familiar with. Today, my friend, we will be discussing civic duty and how it relates to you. I'll begin by telling you my own, personal story.

Back in 2008 I voted for Barack Obama in the Presidential election. I am, by no means, a Democrat. However, I was taken in by his promises
